We searched the black sand beaches for turtles on day 2, but we did not see any until later in the week. We hiked into a little bay area that our travel book noted for having turtles. It was a beautiful cove, however, the water here was murky and unclear, so it did not make for good snorkeling. We found some turtles and I tried to follow them in the water, but due to the murkiness they could easily disappear.
On our hike back to the jeep we passed this big turtle hanging out on the beach.
