While stuck in Jacksonville we also celebrated Isabel’s 6th Birthday. She is such a fun girl! She loves all things Princess and yellow and pink. She loves to dance and sing and be a girl. She often asks to put on her play make up or nail polish and loves to where dresses. She loves her family , always has a smile on her face, and is always willing to share. She has learned to read and write and loves being in first grade. She has grown so much this year!
She wanted a castle for a cake, and yellow to match princess Belle’s dress. At home we have a kit for a castle cake that we have used for many a birthdays in the past, but this year we had to wing it. I thought about heading to the store to buy fondant as I usually do, but while in MD, my sister in law made homemade fondant for my nieces birthday cake, she said it was easy so I thought I would give it a try. It was crazy how easy it was, and tasted so much better than the store bought of course. It is literally melted marshmallows and 1 or 2 other ingredients. We will make it from here on out.
As part of Birthday celebrations this year, starting with Isabel, David and I decided to treat each our kids to a special dinner with just mom and dad at a restaurant of the kids choice. So a few nights later, Isabel had her special Birthday date at the Cheesecake factory—ok I admit I helped the 6 year old pick the place. She loved it and can’t wait to do it again. We enjoyed spending time with just her and listening to the important and fun things on her mind.
For her birthday we also bought her a CTR butterfly necklace, but I accidentally shipped it home to Idaho instead of to Jacksonville. Good think Grandma Sanna was coming for a visit in a few days and could bring it with her.
